The ERA Program is designed to provide rent and utility assistance to eligible households who have experienced financial hardship due directly or indirectly to COVID-19. 

This program is only available to rental households and does not apply to households with a mortgage or who currently own their home.  This program is for Seminole Nation tribal citizens nationwide.  Payments will be made directly to landlords and utility companies.



The following is a basic list of documents you may need to provide to the ERA Program. Applicants may be asked to complete additional forms or provide additional documentation to demonstrate their eligibility



      • Drivers' license

      • Tribal card 

      • State issued ID card

  • Proof of income eligibility for all adults over 18, for all wages earned in the 60 days prior to your application date.


  • Check Stubs

  • Unemployment

  • Emergency benefits statements

  • Current lease agreement

  • Documentation of rent owed (current and/or past due)

    • Examples

      • Rent ledger or statement from your landlord indicating with month(s) rent is due for

      • eviction-notice (if applicable)

  • Supplemental documentation (if applicable)

    • Documentation showing one or more household members qualified for unemployment benefits

    • Copy of all past due utility bills

  • Contact information for your landlord (name, phone number, email address

  • If households need assistance filling out the application, they can reach out to the Seminole Nation Housing Authority Erap team for assistance. A staff member will be able to assist with questions regarding the program and application process.



  • Has a household income at or below 80% of the area median; and

  • Demonstrates a risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability; and

  • ERAP may be able to provide assistance to households who have experienced a negative financial impact directly or indirectly due to COVID-19. This may include households or persons for which the following statements apply:

    1. You have been laid off.

    2. Your place of employment has closed.

    3. You have experienced a reduction in hours of work.

    4. You must stay home to care for children due to closure of day care and/or school.

    5. You must stay home to care for children due to distance learning.

    6. You have lost child or spousal support.

    7. You have had an increase in expenses due to COVID-19, i.e. food, child care, medical bills, etc.

    8. You have been unable to find employment due to COVID-19.

    9. You are unwilling or unable to participate in your previous employment due to the high risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
