Board of Commissioners

The Housing Authority of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (HASNOK) is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners. The Board provides oversight, strategic direction, and fiduciary responsibility for the Authority’s housing programs, operations, and long-term planning.

Commissioners are appointed by the Principal Chief of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma and confirmed by a majority vote of the General Council of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Each Commissioner serves a two-year term, ensuring continuity of leadership while maintaining accountability to tribal leadership and Seminole Nation citizens.

As a Tribally Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA), HASNOK operates as a separate legal entity created by the Seminole Nation to administer federal housing funds and housing programs on the Nation’s behalf. The Board of Commissioners serves as the governing body of the TDHE and is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable federal regulations, tribal laws and policies, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements.

The Board’s responsibilities include adopting policies, approving budgets and housing plans, overseeing executive leadership, and ensuring that HASNOK operates in a transparent, fiscally responsible manner that aligns with the housing needs and priorities of Seminole Nation citizens.
