Lease Purchase Homeownership Program
The Lease Purchase Homeownership Program, administered by the Housing Authority of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (HASNOK), provides a pathway to affordable homeownership for income-eligible Native American families. Participants lease homes at an income-based rent—typically 25% of adjusted gross income—while working toward eventual ownership. The program is designed to support stability, self-sufficiency, and pride in homeownership, with units located within the Seminole Nation’s housing service area. Eligibility requires applicants to be Native American members, citizens, Freedmen, or part of a Native American family, meet HUD low-income guidelines (≤80% of national median income), and demonstrate readiness to meet financial and maintenance obligations. Veterans’ benefits may count toward eligibility, and law enforcement officers or essential families may qualify for special provisions. After consistent participation, compliance, and fulfillment of program requirements, homes may be conveyed to participants, fostering long-term housing security and generational wealth within the Seminole Nation community.
