Low-Income Tax Credit Program (Homeownership)
The Housing Authority of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (HASNOK) administers the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program to provide safe, decent, sanitary, and affordable rental housing for income-eligible Native American families within the Seminole Nation housing service area. The program is operated in partnership with Seminole Nation Housing Limited Partnership I and complies with the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA), Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requirements, and Oklahoma Housing Finance Authority (OHFA) regulations. Preference for housing assistance is given to Seminole Nation members in accordance with HASNOK’s Indian Housing Plan and established selection criteria.
Eligible applicants must meet income eligibility requirements, complete the application process, and provide documentation verifying household composition, income, tribal enrollment, and other eligibility factors. Applicants are placed on a waiting list based on a point-based preference system that prioritizes displaced families, Seminole Nation members, elders, persons with disabilities, veterans, and other qualifying households. Applicants are responsible for maintaining an active application by updating their information every six months and notifying HASNOK of any changes in income, household composition, or contact information.
Participants lease their homes from HASNOK and are required to maintain the property as their primary residence, comply with lease obligations, and participate in annual income recertification and property inspections. Monthly rent is based on household income, applicable utility allowances, and federal program requirements. The program promotes long-term housing stability while providing families with the opportunity to live in quality affordable housing that may eventually become eligible for conversion to HASNOK’s Lease with Option to Purchase Program, subject to applicable tax credit restrictions and Board-approved policies.

You qualify for programs according to your income. Qualifying for HUD assistance requires an income level below 80% of the Federal standards median.
You do NOT have to live in Seminole the city but you MUST live within the Seminole Nation. This area includes Seminole, Wewoka, Konawa, and Sasakwa.
You do NOT have to be a member of the Seminole Nation but you must be a member of a federally recognized Native-American tribe to qualify for housing. The Housing Authority gives priority to Seminole Tribal members first.
The Housing Authority reserves the right to take up to 30 days to process an application per program. Signing and bringing all required documentation, forms, and verifications helps to expedite the process.

Simply choose the appropriate program under the “Housing Programs” tab and click on the application. Online applications are available in PDF file format. All applications must be turned into the Housing Authority at the previously mentioned address. Only complete applications will be processed.
